Rattlesnake Zinfandel is a tribute to the crest called Rattlesnake Hill, the highest point of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It’s famous for the rattlesnakes living among the vines, seeking sunshine by day and coiling around the vines at night. This Zinfandel is bold and boisterous, with intense layers black cherry, raspberry, licorice and Sichuan pepper. Vanilla and graham cracker undertones linger on the long finish this wine lives up to its name in every way, possessing a power that strikes with intense force. In 2017, heavy winter rains fueled vine growth early in the season – a warm, steady summer and fall followed, leading to a slightly early harvest with intensely fruit-driven yields. Even in slightly inconsistent years, Monte Rosso’s elevation and aspect determinedly inform astonishing, character-driven wines. The vineyard’s southwestern facing slopes drain quickly and encourage vines to reach deep into the earth for ultra-concentrated, site-specific flavors.

Loaded with the refreshing, fruity flavors of sun-kissed strawberries, succulent pears, sweet pineapple, and Georgia peaches, Barefoot White Zinfandel will always leave you asking for one more sip. Even better over ice, our White Zinfandel is the perfect pairing for fresh fruits, smooth cheeses, and seafood feasts.

The 2015 vintage is packed with sun-ripened cherries, blackberry, and nutmeg aromas. Chauvet Zin has a flavor profile all its own with flavors of bright cherry, cranberry, and ligonberry jam. As a result, Chauvet Zin is rich and round, with a silky tannic structure and a lingering finish.

Our 2014 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is rich and expansive, opening with intense aromas of freshly-cracked black pepper and undertones of clove and allspice. On the palate, fruit-forward notes of baked boysenberry and cassis are framed with notes of brambly dried fruits, cocoa dust and peppered jerky. This wine’s soft edges and extraordinarily long finish are complemented by hints of graphite, bay leaves and vanilla.

The 2017 Bear Flag Zinfandel leads with aromas of freshly baked blueberry pie. Layers of dark, dense fruit evokes bubbly blueberries while toasted oak and vanilla notes deliver hints of flaky crust. A dash of spice subtly accents the plush, lingering mouthfeel. In 2017, fruit was sourced from select, premier vineyards within Sonoma County. When blended, each terroir adds a unique layer of flavor and creates a memorable style. In 2017, record winter rainfall replenished the soil followed by a temperate spring and bud break came as expected. In September, impressive heat hastened harvest, but subsequent cool weather restored maturation to a more gradual pace. The resulting clusters had a typical mix of large plump berries (containing juicy berry highlights and youthful tannins), tiny bead-sized berries (vibrant acidity) and ultra- ripe, shriveled berries (intense syrupy, candied hints).

Louis M. Martini Monte Rosso Vineyard Gnarly Vine Zinfandel V17 750ML

Our Gnarly Vine Zinfandel grapes were picked and sorted by hand. They were then gravity fed into small, open top tanks for a two-day cold soak before primary fermentation. The wine was aged in a combination of French oak barrels (53% new) and American oak barrels (25% new) for a total of 16 months. Vibrant, juicy red raspberry pie unfurls on the palate, accented by the historic vineyard’s signature dusty earth overtones. The fruit aromas are set against a spicy backdrop of cinnamon stick and Sichuan pepper. Full-bodied and concentrated the textured mouthfeel is plush, finishing long.

Our Lodi Zin explodes with blueberries, black plums, vanilla, and cocoa. Lush and mouthfilling, with incredibly silky tannins that slide into a long, flavorful finish. Uncork now for a tempting taste, or cellar for up to 10 years of flavor development. The Lodi region is characterized by warm days and cool nights with deep, sandy soils, forcing the vine's roots to push deep to find water and nutrients. The old vines that supply our Lodi Zinfandel typically are the first of our three County Zinfandels to be harvested. The warm days and early ripening lead to a soft and very fruit-driven Zinfandel.
