The palate is refreshing with layers of cherry and raspberry underscored by accents of spice. A well-balanced mouthfeel leads to a long, velvety finish.

Viticulture Notes
Vintage 2019 in California experienced cool temperatures that effectively lengthened the growing season and allowed the grapes to ripen gradually at lower sugars. Grapes from this harvest have concentrated flavor and optimal balance.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes for this Pinot Noir were fermented at temperatures between 78° and 82°F in stainless steel tanks. Skin contact time was tailored to each vineyard for enhanced color and flavor and to maximize the plush mouthfeel. To create aromas of vanilla and toasted coconut, we aged the wine on American and French oak.

Our 2021 Clos du Bois Pinot Noir is an approachable, medium-bodied red wine from California. Aromas of cherry and vanilla bean rise from the glass with a touch of anise. This wine brims with layers of sweet cherry, strawberry and raspberry with a silky mouthfeel. Ribbons of toasted oak and caramel underscore the fruit, leading to a long finish.

Viticulture Notes
This elegant Pinot Noir is sourced from select vineyards in some of California’s most renowned growing regions. The 2021 growing season experienced a warm spring, which brought on early budbreak. Dry conditions served to further reduce crops size. However, anticipated diurnal temperature shifts kept the fruit from ripening too quickly and allowed it to develop slowly and evenly.

Winemaking Notes
We prefer to harvest our Pinot Noir in the cool early morning hours, which helps preserve the inherent fruit character of the grapes. After it is delivered to the winery, we gently destem and send mostly whole berries directly to stainless steel fermenters to be cold soaked at 60-65°F for up to 2 days. During primary fermentation, we meticulously managed the extraction on skins to capture a silky tannin structure. To create subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak, we racked the wine onto oak and let it age for 3-4 months. Individual lots were then chosen and combined to create the final blend.

Plush, flavorful and food-friendly, pair this with roasted beet-goat cheese salad, barbequed pork ribs, cheeseburgers or rich mushroom dishes.

VITICULTURE NOTES
We looked to Monterey, Sonoma and Santa Barbara Counties to deliver this plush and distinctive Pinot Noir, relying on a collection of estate vineyards for the majority of our fruit. Overall, vintage 2021 was exceptional in California. A temperate and dry year with few temperature swings, the season was smooth, consistent and evenly paced. Dry conditions in winter and spring led vineyard managers to establish a healthy, balanced canopy early in the growing season with thoughtful water management throughout. At harvest, grapes showed beautiful concentration, advanced flavor development and ideal structure at lower-than-usual Brix levels, delivering wonderfully mature fruit into the cellar earlier than an average season. Overall, an outstanding vintage.

WINEMAKING NOTES
We harvested whole grape clusters before de-stemming and delivering to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Following a five-day cold soak, the must fermented for another five to eight days, receiving regular punch-downs tailored to each lot. Once dry, the wine was drained to tank and barrel to undergo malolactic fermentation before aging on a combination of French and American oak. Blending took place in the summer with a special focus on maximizing the unique stylistic contributions of lots from each county.

Jayson by Pahlmeyer Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir V20 750ML
NEW

sale price $49.99
Our 2020 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir opens with vibrant notes of red summer fruits and a captivating perfume of rose petal and violet. The intricate palate displays a beautiful purity of fruit—macerated raspberry, wild blackberry, and ripe plum—framed by silky tannins and finishing long with lifted notes of sweet oak and spice.

VINTAGE NOTES
The season began with a mild, arid winter and early bud break. A cool spring slowed vine development and the long season eased into a steady, temperate summer. Cool mornings and warm, sunny days allowed the fruit to mature gradually and steadily, achieving great complexity, focus, and structure. Dry conditions led to lower yields and small, concentrated berries.

WINEMAKING NOTES
We hand-harvested our Sonoma Coast blocks at optimal ripeness, identifying two standout lots, a blend of 60% Calera and 40% Swan clones, to create this expressive wine. We fermented in small open-top tanks, a portion of the fruit kept as whole clusters to impart additional depth and structure. After a five-day cold soak, the tanks returned to ambient temperature, coaxing spontaneous native yeast fermentation. Gentle pressing preserved nuanced aromatics and retained supple tannins. The free-run was transferred to 60% new French Oak aged nine months before racking for bottling.

The mouthfeel is full and plush with a long, rewarding finish.

Viticulture Notes
The 2021 growing season in the northern region was accelerated with a heat spell in July, which resulted in early ripening. This vintage produced fruit with bright acidity and ripe fruit characteristics.

Winemaking Notes
We selected grapes for our 2021 Pinot Noir from Lodi for their characteristics of cherry and plush tannins. Zinfandel was blended with the Pinot Noir to complement the dark fruit and add notes of spice. Graciano was blended in to darken the fruit and fill in mid-palette structure. The Pinot Noir was harvested at peak ripeness to allow easy extraction of rich, concentrated color. We fermented this wine at temperatures between 86-88°F after a overnight cold soak to create intense flavor, more saturated color and velvety tannins. Kali Hart Pinot Noir is an elegant representation of its cool climate terroir of our estate vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands in California.

VINTAGE NOTES
The 2018 growing season was consistently mild, allowing fruit to ripen gradually on the vine and develop complex flavor. August and September brought moderate weather more in line with previous harvests. October rain quenched the soil without slowing harvest. Wines from 2018 vintage are showing highly detailed flavors, balance and intensity.

VINEYARD
We sourced fruit from our Sleepy Hollow Vineyard and the Olson Ranch to give this Pinot Noir complexity. Located on a picturesque benchland only 13 miles from Monterey Bay, Sleepy Hollow is one of the first vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands. With a long, cool growing season, the grapes hang on the vine longer, developing intensity and depth. The Olson Ranch is located at the southern tip of the Santa Lucia Highlands. The rolling hills, limestone-laced soils and afternoon winds yield grapes that accentuate the intensity of Pinot Noir. Grapes from both vineyards create a consistently ripe, highly detailed and delicious Pinot Noir.
