Extending 300 miles along California’s craggy coastline, the Central Coast Region is home to spectacular appellations like Arroyo Seco, Paso Robles, Santa Lucia Highlands, San Antonio Valley, Hames Valley and San Benito. Constant refreshing breezes and warm sunshine create the longest growing season in California, producing a variety of wines from the popular Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.

The Barrel Room is proud to offer wines from historic and innovative Central Coast wineries like Hahn, Talbott, Edna Valley and Smith & Hook. Each is unique in their mastery of the vast array of varietals available and consistently deliver a signature style of robust, richly layered wines.

Our 2021 Hahn Appellation Series Arroyo Seco Chardonnay is light gold in appearance with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus peel and vanilla. On the palate, vibrant flavors of pineapple, stone fruit, citrus and notes of honeysuckle and butter, followed by a nuanced toasty spice on the finish. <br><br> <b>VINEYARDS</b><br> Grapes for this wine are sourced from Ste. Nicolaus Vineyard & Mission Ranch– certified sustainable vineyards in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County. Located south of the Santa Lucia Highlands, both vineyards enjoy generous morning sun, with soils that are rocky and well-drained. These soils challenge the vines to yield grapes of depth, character and intensity. The AVA’s extended growing season allows fruit to ripen slowly and leads to well-balanced, flavorful wines. <br><br> <b>WINEMAKING</b><br> Picked at the peak of ripeness and flavor, the Chardonnay grapes were destemmed and sent to small French oak barrels for fermentation, of which, 100% underwent a secondary malolactic fermentation to give the wine a soft and creamy texture. The wine aged on the lees in French oak barrels for 11 months.

Fresh, bright and crisp, this pale lemon-rind-colored Sauvignon Blanc features lively flavors of grapefruit, citrus and crisp pear with subtle freshcut-hay notes and vivid acidity. The finish lingers with minerality, hints of green apple, lemongrass and a touch of jalapeño. <br><br> This Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from vineyards in the Central Coast, where consistently warm sunny days are followed by cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean at night. While below average winter rainfall led to some light early spring irrigation, the 2022 growing season continued with favorable warm weather that aided canopy growth and even berry set. Steady temperatures ensured fruit was maturing slowly allowing for gradual ripening and extended hang times. A small heat spike in late September slightly sped up the harvest but fruit still came in with beautiful acidity. <br><br> Harvested from certified sustainable vineyards, the fruit was hand-picked in the early morning, brought to the winery and destemmed. The wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the beautiful natural acidity of the grapes.

Our 2021 Red V blend is an approachable, easy-to-enjoy symphony of some of the five best grape varieties from the Central Coast that shows ruby in the glass. Scents of dried fig, black cherry and licorice follow through on the palate with accents of cranberry and white pepper. The tannins are polished and deliciously chewy with a layer of cherry preserves staying persistent on the finish.
