Tornatore Etna Rosso is ruby red with faint purple color, a typical trait of the Nerello Mascalese variety, which is not known for rich color. The wine has notes of macerated strawberries and raspberries, morello cherries and black plum, which blend with subtle hints of herbs and earth. Apothic Dark V21 750ML

Bold, daring and velvety smooth, our 2021 Apothic Dark offers an unforgettable taste of the darkest of fruits. Notes of blueberry, blackberry and plum are accented by dark chocolate and spice on the rich, plush palate. Hints of coffee and mocha help round out the wine’s full body and long, lingering finish. Viticulture Notes We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Dark from Lodi in California’s Delta region. California’s 2021 growing season was cool and mild, with a heat spell in August that resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines from this vintage showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors. Winemaking Notes We harvested a majority of the grapes for the Apothic Dark at night in cool temperatures to preserve the character of the fruit, then we fermented the varieties between 88° to 90°F. The blend, primarily Petite Sirah and Teroldego with other dark-skinned varieties in support, was crafted to showcase a silky mouthfeel with hints of dark chocolate and spice.

Apothic Inferno V20 750ML

2020 Apothic Inferno is a Red Wine with a Whiskey Soul. Aging some of this Zinfandel-and-Merlot-led blend in whiskey barrels adds intriguing dimensions of maple and spice to Inferno’s dark, velvety-smooth layers of dried blackberries, black plum and cherry. Plush and rich on the mouth, well-integrated tannins add texture and structure while hints of toasty vanilla and cocoa linger on the long, warm finish. Viticulture Notes We sourced fruit for our bold Inferno blend primarily from California, mainly from Lodi and the Central Valley, with a portion of the blend grown in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills and Columbia Valley regions. California’s 2020 vintage experienced a cool, mild growing season with a heat spell in August that resulted in early ripening. In Washington, typically low rainfall and moderate temperatures yielded fruit with the vibrant acidity and layered structure that the state is known for producing. Overall, vintage 2020 grapes show concentrated, mature flavor development and incredible structure. Winemaking Notes Grapes for Apothic Inferno were harvested and de-stemmed, then fermented for an average of four to six days in a combination of cone-sweep and upright tanks. The wine is then oak aged for three to six months, then aged an additional 60+ days in whiskey barrels, giving Apothic Inferno its unique flavor profile.

Edna Valley V Series Red Blend V21 750ML

Our 2021 Red V blend is an approachable, easy-to-enjoy symphony of some of the five best grape varieties from the Central Coast that shows ruby in the glass. Scents of dried fig, black cherry and licorice follow through on the palate with accents of cranberry and white pepper. The tannins are polished and deliciously chewy with a layer of cherry preserves staying persistent on the finish.

Orin Swift Papillon 750ML 2021

It's rare to find a wine from the Napa Valley composed of all five Bordeaux-style varietals, but for many years, that has been Papillon's focus. The raw strength and prestige of Cabernet Sauvignon buttressed by the opulence of Merlot, the spiciness of Cabernet Franc, the depth of Malbec and the sheer unctuousness of Petit Verdot come together seamlessly. The 2021 Papillon is sourced from Napa Valley growers we've worked with for decades-Stagecoach Vineyard, Indian Joe, Morisoli Vineyard and even a touch from the Monte Rosso Vineyard over on Moon Mountain, just to name a few. Our good friend and fellow winemaker, Greg Gorman, photographed the label. The 2021 Papillon fills the glass with an unmistakable dark crimson, a flash of neon purple and a ruby rim. Tears move glacially and the wine opens with aromatics of boysenberry jam, violets, chocolate covered blueberry and hints of Cara Cara rind, graphite and brioche. The entry and mid-palate are bright throughout with considerable weight-tones of cassis, blackberry and baking spices flourish. Enveloping texture, chalky, drying tannins and an enduring finish bows out the wine.

Department 66 Pharaon Red Wine V16 750ML

In the famed book, The Count of Monte Cristo, protagonist Edmond Dantes arrives to Marseille on a ship named ‘Pharaon.’ The word’s etymological roots and context since inspired Dave Phinney’s philosophy and the reserve wine for Department 66. Aromas of sweet oak, dark chocolate liqueur and Tahitian vanilla are complemented by ripe plum and herbal sage notes. Savory red fruit flavors of boysenberry and rhubarb fill the palate and blend with a glimpse of schist and minerality. Firm tannins are primed for extended aging while lingering acidity extends the finish across the palate.

Hahn Founder's GSM Red Blend V22 750ML

Our 2022 GSM is a medium-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Aromas of violet, blueberry and a tap of white pepper rise from the glass. The mouthfeel is soft with layers of ripe raspberry and strawberry. Subtle hints of toasted oak and mocha pull through the finish.

Brancaia TRE Red Blend V21 750ML

TRE stands for its three grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as for its three Tuscan vineyards (Maremma, Castellina and Radda in Chianti). The assemblage is dominated by Sangiovese with 70 percent, but Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon also bring their charm with 15% each. This well-structured, medium-bodied wine is aged for twelve months before it is bottled. Two thirds of the expansion takes place in French tonneaux and one in cement. This elegant, well-structured cuvée offers plenty of drinking pleasure now or later and goes well with every kitchen. “There is no better entry-level wine than this,” says Monica Larner (for Robert Parker) with reference to the TRE 2014. And James Suckling states: “Really delicious, really juicy, with wonderful aromas of red fruits.” Ideal with: pasta and rice dishes, light roasted or sautéed meat, poultry, fried or grilled fish. Hahn Arroyo Seco GSM V21 750ML

Our 2021 Hahn Appellation Series Arroyo Seco GSM is ruby red in color, this wine bursts with aromas of strawberry and blueberry with a touch of lavender and white pepper. On the palate, layers of cherry, blueberry, blackberry and warm spice are complemented by a round mouthfeel and velvety tannins. VINEYARDS Grapes for this wine are sourced from vineyards in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County. Located south of the Santa Lucia Highlands, these vineyards sit on a gravelly alluvial plain with rocky soils that foster excellent drainage. Arroyo Seco, one of the smallest AVAs in California, is a hidden gem, boasting one of the longest growing seasons in the state. Cool winds channeling South from Monterey Bay through the Salinas Valley ensure gradual ripening, full development of vibrant fruit flavors and bright acidity. WINEMAKING Picked late in the evening, the grapes were destemmed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The wine was pumped over several times a day for maximum color, aromatics and flavor extraction. After about two weeks the wine was pressed off the skins, settled and racked into French oak barrels to age for 11 months.

Soft and plush on the palate, the long finish brings vanilla and mocha characteristics, a reflection of the selective oak aging used to enhance and support the wine’s elegant appeal. Viticulture Notes We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Red from the Lodi and Central Valley areas in California. We sourced the Zinfandel from Lodi, a premium producer of intensely concentrated, silky textured fruit. California’s 2021 growing season was cool and mild, excellent conditions for developing mature, layered fruit. A heat spell in August resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines from this vintage showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors. Winemaking Notes Red was our first Apothic release: a daringly bold and original blend of California-grown red grapes that created a phenomenon. Grapes for 2021 Apothic Red were de-stemmed, with a portion selected for whole-cluster fermentation. We fermented the wine for five to seven days in a combination of cone-sweep and upright tanks at a temperature averaging 85-88°F. Across all lots, we exercised meticulous temperature control to maximize the extraction of color and dark fruit notes.
