Brancaia

The smooth, medium-bodied and well-balanced TRE blend delivers incredible character and depth. Fresh-picked fruit notes of wild red berry and black cherry are contrasted by subtle earthy characteristics. Fine tannins and a lively, refreshing finish bring wonderful structure. TRE is named for both Brancaia's three estate vineyards in Tuscany and for bringing together three of the region's most celebrated varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our IL BLU is an elegant, refined wine with lovely blueberry and blackberry aromas, leading to notes of chocolate, blackberry and currant on the palate. Crafted with grapes from two of our estate vineyards, Brancaia Estate and Poppi Estate, this full-bodied blend has silky tannins and a long, lingering finish. The grapes for our IL BLU blend were picked by hand, gently pressed and gravity-fed into cone-shaped steel tanks for fermentation at a maximum temperature of 89°F. We utilized a gentle pestle rather than conventional pumping methods to preserve the delicate fruit character for fermentation at a maximum temperature of 89°F. Only natural yeasts we used so that the grapes can express the authentic character of our vineyards. The grapes remained in contact with the skins for up to 25 days. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation in a mix of barriques and stainless-steel tanks. IL BLU was aged for 20 months in a combination of new and used French barriques with a medium toast. Before release, this wine spent additional months aging in the bottle.

ILATRAIA has intense aromas and flavors of black cherry, plum, blueberry and spice, backed by ultra-fine tannins on the full-bodied palate, while subtle notes of coffee and licorice are found on the lingering finish.
