Mendoza-grown Malbec leads our 2019 Red Blend, providing a foundation brimming with layers of dark plum. Bonarda imparts notes of juicy dark cherries to the blend while Cabernet Sauvignon brings layers of bold dark fruit. Syrah offers finishing touches of blackberry and black pepper while light oak gives our Red Blend a rich mouthfeel and approachable wine. Tucked under the massive shoulders of the Andes Mountains in west central Argentina, the province of Mendoza is renowned for housing some of the best winegrowing regions of Argentina. The character of Mendoza wines is forged in high altitude desert vineyards irrigated by mineral rich snowmelt from glaciers and snowfields. Altitudes range from 1,000 feet to around 5,000 feet, where the foothills rise steeply toward the Andes’ peaks. High altitude means cool temperatures and clear air, and clear air means more sunlight for building flavor in the grapes, helping to make Mendoza the source of Argentina’s well-earned reputation for top quality, unique wines.

Tucked under the massive shoulders of the Andes Mountains in west central Argentina, the province of Mendoza is renowned as a winegrowing region. The high-altitude desert vineyards their roll upward into the foothills and toward the steep Andes’ peaks. Altitudes in Mendoza range from 3,000 to 5,000 feet, and that altitude means clear air and more sunlight for building flavors in the grapes. At night, cold air sweeps down from the mountains to give the grapes the structure and complexity to balance perfectly with the intense flavors.

Grown at the foot of the Andes Mountains, our 2019 Malbec opens beautifully in the glass, revealing aromas of cracked pepper and crushed violet. Swirls of dark plum, blackberry envelope notes of caramel. Our Malbec captures the complexity, finely honed tannins, velvety mouthfeel and lingering finish of Mendoza’s signature varietal. Serve with charred meat or grilled mushrooms. Winemaking Notes: The grapes for our Malbec were handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed. The must was cold soaked for 72 hours prior to fermentation, which occurred over seven days in both upright and conical tanks at a maximum temperature of 85°F. For optimal extraction of color and flavor, we used pump-overs and the skins were left in contact with the juice for up to 20 days. This wine was aged on a combination of French and American oak for eight months before bottling.
