WINEMAKER’S NOTES A blinding white gold and a chartreuse shimmer in the glass, the 2021 Mannequin opens with opulent, beguiling aromatics. Ripe golden apple, concentrated jasmine, citrus notes and a touch of cream and fresh brioche emerge. The entry is bright yet with a bit of weight; similar aromatic notes come through on the palate supplemented by rich honeydew and green apple. Ghost Pines Merlot V20 750ML

In 1964, Louis P. Martini, son of Napa pioneer Louis M. Martini, purchased 178 acres of land which the Martini family developed into a vineyard they named Ghost Pines as a tribute to the native grey pines which at dusk, appear to hover, solitary and ghostlike throughout the coastal valleys. Ghost Pines Merlot draws from multiple winegrowing counties to create a wine as unique as the Ghost Pine itself. Hints of black cherry and ripe berries complement mocha and brown spice notes finishing with a generous, supple texture.

Hahn SLH Chardonnay V21 750ML

Lively aromas of lemon citrus, pineapple and orange blossom with hints of tropical fruit, caramelized honey and toasty vanilla. On the palate, this wine has an refined texture with a silky, smooth mouthfeel and medium acidity. Notes of Meyer lemon, golden apple and fresh cut pear, combined with delicate notes of toasty oak and creamy minerality, lead to an elegant long finish. The winter rainfall was slightly below average, but we were able to compensate with early spring irrigation to fill soil profiles before budbreak. Warm spring temperatures aided vine growth and they were able to reach max canopy height. Summer temperatures heated up and slowed down vine growth as vines transitioned into fruit development. Weather leading into harvest was relatively cool and uneventful, which allowed for gradual ripening of the fruit. It was another remarkable growing season in the Santa Lucia Highlands, resulting in wines with beautiful color, concentrated flavors, great structure and naturally balanced acidity. After being carefully picked and precisely sorted for quality, the fruit was destemmed, sent direct to press and fermented entirely in small French oak barrels. The wine was hand-stirred on its lees every three weeks for the 10 months it aged in barrel. When the wine was ready to be blended, our winemaker selected only the finest barrels that best express the aromas and flavors of the Santa Lucia Highlands

Brancaia TRE Red Blend V21 750ML

TRE stands for its three grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as for its three Tuscan vineyards (Maremma, Castellina and Radda in Chianti). The assemblage is dominated by Sangiovese with 70 percent, but Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon also bring their charm with 15% each. This well-structured, medium-bodied wine is aged for twelve months before it is bottled. Two thirds of the expansion takes place in French tonneaux and one in cement. This elegant, well-structured cuvée offers plenty of drinking pleasure now or later and goes well with every kitchen. “There is no better entry-level wine than this,” says Monica Larner (for Robert Parker) with reference to the TRE 2014. And James Suckling states: “Really delicious, really juicy, with wonderful aromas of red fruits.” Ideal with: pasta and rice dishes, light roasted or sautéed meat, poultry, fried or grilled fish. Our favorite: with Vitello Tonnato with fresh capers.

William Hill Benchland Series Chardonnay V18 750ML

Our 2018 Benchland Series Chardonnay comes from several vineyards throughout Napa Valley as well as a block of Musque clone Chardonnay from Russian River. A beautiful blend composed of our reserve wines, it showcases the spectrum of our Chardonnay portfolio. It opens with expressive aromas of orange blossom, fig, Bosc pear and a touch of lemon custard leading to a rich mouthfeel and flavors of caramel apple and flaky croissant. The finish is long and round, bursting with fruit and hints of toasty oak.

Ratti Battaglione Barbera d’Asti DOCG V18 750ML

Intense red color. Fragrance of ripe fruit against a spice background. Full flavored, pleasant and elegant, with good persistence. It’s a rich and structured wine, also suited to medium aging. A wine for first courses and red meats. Renato Ratti founded his winery in 1965 and was the first to map the region of Barolo, paving the way for the commercial idea of terroir in Italy. After Renato’s death in 1988, his son Pietro has carried on his father’s legacy, Ratti's Barbera d'Asti is the winery's most accessible and versatile wine. A cold and rainy spring replenished the water resources in the soil. A warm and sunny summer with significant daily diurnal range gave ideal conditions for fruit development. Harvest occurred in late September.

Viticulture Notes Fruit is selected from cool maritime vineyards throughout the Marlborough growing region, creating a vibrant, well-balanced wine with crisp tropical and citrus fruit notes. Vintage 2021 began with cool, occasionally wet conditions that persisted through spring. By summer, warm, sunny days and crisp, cool nights emerged, allowing grapes to develop layered flavors while maintaining region’s signature crisp structure. An early harvest brought bright, mature fruit into the cellar. Winemaking Notes The grapes were harvested at night in cool temperatures to preserve their vibrant fruit characteristics, then destemmed and pressed immediately with minimal skin contact into stainless steel tanks. A long, slow fermentation was carried out over three weeks at cool temperatures using various yeast strains to lend complexity, enhance fruit expression and maintain the classic Marlborough character. Each block was kept separate throughout the winemaking process, allowing different parcels to blend into Nobilo’s signature style.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.G

Allegrini’s Amarone is a benchmark of the region, a gastronomic and modern style that gives both richness and elegance. A blend of Corvina and Corvinone, with a small percentage of Rondinella and Oseleta. Estate grown. High elevation vineyards. Intense ruby red tending to garnet, it reveals an extraordinary complexity on the nose, with notes of cherries in spirits and blackberry jam, followed by hints of dried violets, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. It takes the palate by surprise with its balance, freshness and softness, enhanced by silky-smooth tannins. Viticulture Notes: This year the harvest was long, with slow ripening, and abundant, high-quality grapes. Spring was particularly wet and in early July, due to the considerable number of bunches, we carried out some thinning to restore the equilibrium of the vineyard. A dry period started in July, interspersed with some timely showers. On the eve of the harvest, heavy rains (up to 170 millimetres of rainfall) made us fear the worst, but fortunately, the forecasted poor weather conditions failed to materialize. In September, therefore, we experienced a sort of new, ‘mini summer’, with temperatures reaching up to 33°C, high overall temperatures but also equally high fluctuations (even differences of 15°C between day and night), which enabled the grapes to attain ideal ripeness. Phenolic maturity was achieved in the last third of September. The grapes are in a perfectly healthy condition, with high quantities and quality. Winemaking Notes: The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for a about one hundred days, brings with it the great aromatic intensity of dark fruit and undergrowth, together with spicy and tobacco notes. The impact on the palate is powerful and vigorous, with the wine gradually tapering on the acidic and savoury momentum, extending gently with a clean, dry finish.

Hahn Founders Chardonnay V23 750ML

Our 2023 Chardonnay is a bright white wine with hints of tropical fruit a whisper of toasted oak and toffee. Aromas of banana and lemongrass meet layers of crisp apple and pear. The finish is clean with a touch of Meyer lemon zest. The grapes for this wine were harvested at optimum ripeness. To create vibrant flavor characteristics, we conducted fermentation at low- to moderate temperatures from 55°-62°F with carefully selected aromatic yeast. Post fermentation, the wine was stored in stainless steel tanks to preserve brightness and balance.

Lo-Fi Aperitifs Dry Vermouth 750ML
