Bold, daring and velvety smooth, our 2021 Apothic Dark offers an unforgettable taste of the darkest of fruits. Notes of blueberry, blackberry and plum are accented by dark chocolate and spice on the rich, plush palate. Hints of coffee and mocha help round out the wine’s full body and long, lingering finish. Viticulture Notes We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Dark from Lodi in California’s Delta region. California’s 2021 growing season was cool and mild, with a heat spell in August that resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines from this vintage showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors. Winemaking Notes We harvested a majority of the grapes for the Apothic Dark at night in cool temperatures to preserve the character of the fruit, then we fermented the varieties between 88° to 90°F. The blend, primarily Petite Sirah and Teroldego with other dark-skinned varieties in support, was crafted to showcase a silky mouthfeel with hints of dark chocolate and spice

Orin Swift Papillon 750ML 2021

It's rare to find a wine from the Napa Valley composed of all five Bordeaux-style varietals, but for many years, that has been Papillon's focus. The raw strength and prestige of Cabernet Sauvignon buttressed by the opulence of Merlot, the spiciness of Cabernet Franc, the depth of Malbec and the sheer unctuousness of Petit Verdot come together seamlessly. The 2021 Papillon is sourced from Napa Valley growers we've worked with for decades-Stagecoach Vineyard, Indian Joe, Morisoli Vineyard and even a touch from the Monte Rosso Vineyard over on Moon Mountain, just to name a few. Our good friend and fellow winemaker, Greg Gorman, photographed the label. The 2021 Papillon fills the glass with an unmistakable dark crimson, a flash of neon purple and a ruby rim. Tears move glacially and the wine opens with aromatics of boysenberry jam, violets, chocolate covered blueberry and hints of Cara Cara rind, graphite and brioche. The entry and mid-palate are bright throughout with considerable weight-tones of cassis, blackberry and baking spices flourish. Enveloping texture, chalky, drying tannins and an enduring finish bows out the wine.

Mount Peak Winery Sentinel Cabernet Sauvignon V21 750ML

Our Sentinel Cabernet Sauvignon is named for the shield-shaped block that casts a watchful eye over the entrance to Monte Rosso Vineyard. Sentinel opens with aromas strawberry compote, raspberry leaf and dried roses. Sentinel is rich and full-bodied, offering hints of cherry tart, forest floor, black tea leaves and star anise. The wine's acidity and dusty tannins are in perfect balance adding texture and depth on the layered palate.

Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon V21 750ML

Mountain and benchland vineyards deliver a layered wine with structure, fruit intensity and finesse. Layers of vanilla and cassis are complemented by hints of cedar and a dusty finish on the palate. The 2021 growing season marked a much-welcome return to ideal. Winter rains quenched the soil, setting the stage for dry weather the rest of the season. Over the summer, conditions stayed uneventful and mild, giving the grapes the luxury of hanging on the vine. Harvest began early, producing low yields of small berries with intense flavor concentration and optimal ripeness. After early morning harvesting, the grapes were gently destemmed and put into upright tanks to cold soak for up to three days. To further extract flavor and varietal character, the wine was given pump-overs three times a day and kept on skins for 15 to 20 days of maceration time. The wine was then transferred to French (25% new) oak barrels for a period of 18 months.

Ghost Pines Pinot Noir V21 750ML

This wine opens with Pinot Noir’s distinguishing bright plum and cherry notes, but then it takes a turn. The flavors are bold and more intense than the average Pinot Noir, with characteristics of summer blackberry, pomegranate and dried rose petals. Oak aging imparts hints of vanilla, baking spice and freshly roasted coffee beans. A hint of cocoa, plush tannins and a round mouthfeel lead to a satisfying finish.

Hahn Founders GSM Red Blend V22 750ML

Our 2022 GSM is a medium-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Aromas of violet, blueberry and a tap of white pepper rise from the glass. The mouthfeel is soft with layers of ripe raspberry and strawberry. Subtle hints of toasted oak and mocha pull through the finish.

Hahn SLH Pinot Noir V21 750ML

Vivid red ruby in the glass, this wine opens with aromas of red fruit, cherry, blackberry and hints of earthiness, delicate toast and vanilla spice. The palate is rich, with refined silky tannins, medium acidity and flavors of cherry, red plums, raspberry and subtle notes of allspice on a long elegant finish. The winter rainfall was slightly below average, but we were able to compensate with early spring irrigation to fill soil profiles before budbreak. Warm spring temperatures aided vine growth and they were able to reach max canopy height. Summer temperatures heated up and slowed down vine growth as vines transitioned into fruit development. Weather leading into harvest was relatively cool and uneventful, which allowed for gradual ripening of the fruit. It was another remarkable growing season in the Santa Lucia Highlands, resulting in wines with beautiful color, concentrated flavors, great structure and naturally balanced acidity. The 2021 vintage was crafted using small-lot winemaking techniques to capture a true expression of each vineyard block. Only estate vineyard lots with consistent superior characteristics were selected to ensure exceptional quality of this blend. The grapes were harvested during cool mornings, brought to the winery, destemmed into open-top stainless-steel tanks, cold-soaked and fermented on the skins for 10 days. The wine was then pressed off, settled and racked into a selection of small 60-gallon French oak barrels where it was aged for 14 months. When the wine was ready to be blended, our winemaker selected only the finest barrels that exemplify the aromas and flavors of the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Our food-friendly, velvety-smooth Frei Brothers Sonoma Reserve Dry Creek Valley Merlot offers a full-bodied style with flavorful ripe fruit characteristics and complex structure. We harvested the grapes for this wine at optimum ripeness, then used warm fermentation 88°-92°F to create intense flavor concentration, rich color and velvety tannins. Tucked under the massive shoulders of the Andes Mountains in west central Argentina, the province of Mendoza is renowned as a winegrowing region. The high-altitude desert vineyards their roll upward into the foothills and toward the steep Andes’ peaks. Altitudes in Mendoza range from 3,000 to 5,000 feet, and that altitude means clear air and more sunlight for building flavors in the grapes. At night, cold air sweeps down from the mountains to give the grapes the structure and complexity to balance perfectly with the intense flavors.
