Our 2021 Hahn Appellation Series Arroyo Seco Chardonnay is light gold in appearance with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus peel and vanilla. On the palate, vibrant flavors of pineapple, stone fruit, citrus and notes of honeysuckle and butter, followed by a nuanced toasty spice on the finish. VINEYARDS Grapes for this wine are sourced from Ste. Nicolaus Vineyard & Mission Ranch– certified sustainable vineyards in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County. Located south of the Santa Lucia Highlands, both vineyards enjoy generous morning sun, with soils that are rocky and well-drained. These soils challenge the vines to yield grapes of depth, character and intensity. The AVA’s extended growing season allows fruit to ripen slowly and leads to well-balanced, flavorful wines. WINEMAKING Picked at the peak of ripeness and flavor, the Chardonnay grapes were destemmed and sent to small French oak barrels for fermentation, of which, 100% underwent a secondary malolactic fermentation to give the wine a soft and creamy texture. The wine aged on the lees in French oak barrels for 11 months.

Hahn SLH Chardonnay V21 750ML

Lively aromas of lemon citrus, pineapple and orange blossom with hints of tropical fruit, caramelized honey and toasty vanilla. On the palate, this wine has an refined texture with a silky, smooth mouthfeel and medium acidity. Notes of Meyer lemon, golden apple and fresh cut pear, combined with delicate notes of toasty oak and creamy minerality, lead to an elegant long finish. The winter rainfall was slightly below average, but we were able to compensate with early spring irrigation to fill soil profiles before budbreak. Warm spring temperatures aided vine growth and they were able to reach max canopy height. Summer temperatures heated up and slowed down vine growth as vines transitioned into fruit development. Weather leading into harvest was relatively cool and uneventful, which allowed for gradual ripening of the fruit. It was another remarkable growing season in the Santa Lucia Highlands, resulting in wines with beautiful color, concentrated flavors, great structure and naturally balanced acidity. After being carefully picked and precisely sorted for quality, the fruit was destemmed, sent direct to press and fermented entirely in small French oak barrels. The wine was hand-stirred on its lees every three weeks for the 10 months it aged in barrel. When the wine was ready to be blended, our winemaker selected only the finest barrels that best express the aromas and flavors of the Santa Lucia Highlands

Apothic Chardonnay V22 750ML

Our appealing Apothic Chardonnay opens with generous notes of crisp red and green apple, layered with hints of honey, caramel and vanilla. Viognier in the blend adds intriguing aromatic floral and tropical fruit characteristics. This luscious wine offers a silky-smooth texture and a bright, lively finish. Viticulture Notes: We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Chardonnay from the unique Lodi Delta region in California. With its cool evenings and warm days, Lodi is known as a producer of fragrant, concentrated and silky textured fruit. California’s 2022 growing season was cool and mild, with a heat spell in August that resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors.  Winemaking Notes: We harvested a majority of the grapes for our Apothic Chardonnay at night in cool temperatures to preserve the character of the fruit. The fruit was whole-cluster pressed, then the juice settled and was racked to tank to optimize clarity and mouthfeel. The Chardonnay underwent partial malolactic fermentation and was fermented on selected oak with sur lie aging, enhancing the wine’s delicate fruit flavors while adding subtle caramel, cream and spice characteristics. A portion of the Chardonnay and Viognier were fermented in stainless-steel tanks.

Our 2021 Chateau Souverain Chardonnay is a lightly oaked, full-bodied wine from California. Our Chardonnay opens with aromas of light honeysuckle, baked apple and freshly baked brioche. The palate offers layers of pear and lemon curd. The silky mouthfeel finishes with just a hint of crisp apple on the lengthy finish. Viticulture Notes: California’s 2021  vintage experienced a cool, mild growing season with an accelerated heat spell in August, resulting in early ripening. Vintage 2021 in California shows vibrant acidity and concentrated flavor characteristics.  Winemaking Notes After harvest, the fruit was gently pressed and allowed to settle before being racked to fermenters. The juice was slowly fermented at cool temperature and after fermentation it was left on lees which were stirred up to four times a month through January. This helps to build richness and achieve the smooth mouthfeel that is the hallmark of the Chateau Souverain style.

But through blending trials, we’re able to bring them together and form a piece of liquid art. Sourced from the Russian River Valley, Atlas Peak, Santa Maria Valley and other prestigious AVAs across the state, Mannequin is our manifestation of California Chardonnay. WINEMAKER’S NOTES A blinding white gold and a chartreuse shimmer in the glass, the 2021 Mannequin opens with opulent, beguiling aromatics. Ripe golden apple, concentrated jasmine, citrus notes and a touch of cream and fresh brioche emerge. The entry is bright yet with a bit of weight; similar aromatic notes come through on the palate supplemented by rich honeydew and green apple.
