Solengo is the first Super Tuscan to originate in Montalcino. The wine’s name, Solengo, means “lone wild boar” in Tuscan Italian. The founding father of the Super Tuscans, Giacomo Tachis, was instrumental in crafting this flagship Super Tuscan for Argiano. The exuberant, concentrated 2017 Solengo opens with notes of violets, roses, blackberry, black currant and plum, with subtle hints of flint, cedar and tea leaf, finishing long. Smooth and full-bodied, the delicate tannins and supreme balance will allow this wine to evolve masterfully for a decade or more.

Delightfully sweet and refreshing, our Liberty Creek Pink Moscato bursts with characteristics of bright tropical fruit, including guava and melon, accented by notes of peach and raspberry. The finish is clean with a hint of orange blossoms.

Deep garnet in color with dark coffee notes lifted by aromas of ripe black currants and Morello cherries. Hints of aniseed, black pepper and vanilla. Layered and complex. Balanced but equally complex on the palate with notes of ripe plum and fig, dark brambly berries and soft tones of toffee and chocolate. Richly textured with smooth tannins, well-integrated and full-bodied. Long, elegant finish of dark cassis and black peppercorn notes.

Distinguished by its bright fruit flavors and hint of spritz, Carlos Rossi Sangria is a medium-bodied wine with a whole lot of personality. Citrusy notes of orange, lemon and grapefruit are especially refreshing.

Poggio al Tesoro is Marilisa Allegrini’s property in Bolgheri, on the Tuscan coast. It’s here that she works with international varietals in the Super Tuscan tradition. 'Mediterra' is a Syrah based blend made just outside of the Bolgheri DOC and is Poggio al Tesoro's most accessible and versatile wine. Wet conditions in the spring were mitigated by a sunny and breezy summer, but still necessitated significant thinning in order to foster airflow. Grapes at harvest were of high quality.

Da Vinci Chianti Riserva is a deep purple hue, opening with aromas of ripe plum and red fruit with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine perfectly balances rich notes of black cherry, espresso and anise alongside soft tannins that linger on the finish. Our Chianti Riserva is an elegant companion to meals, pairing especially well with pasta and meat dishes.
Allegrini La Grola Veneto IGT V15 750ML

The 2015 La Grola IGT is a deep ruby red with an expansive, alluring bouquet and elegant, harmonious palate. Fruit notes of ripe plum and wild berries blend with hints of coffee, backed by firm tannins. Full-bodied and intense while maintaining its finesse, the wine is made from Corvina Veronese and Oseleta grapes grown on terraces. The high plant density and the resulting low yields add to the wine’s unique concentration. Aging potential is 10-15 years.

Palazzo della Torre is a velvety, well-balanced red blend, offering mature, concentrated notes of dark fruit layered with hints of spice on the rich, full-bodied palate. Sophisticated and elegantly structured with soft tannins, Palazzo della Torre’s spicy vanilla, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon characteristics are contrasted with notes of black cherry, plum and dried fruit.

Our Las Rocas 2018 Garnacha is a full-bodied, fruit-forward red wine from Spain. A deep garnet color shows in the glass with aromas of dark berry. Layers of black raspberry, black cherry and plum create a richness brightened by accents of wild strawberry. Subtle notes of oak-driven vanilla carry through the finish, creating a beautiful balance and lengthy finish.

The 2015 Rancho Salina is deep garnet in color with intense black fruit aromas with just a hint of vanilla. It's one of the most aromatic wines of our Designates. Complex, full, round and layered texture, it coats the palate with bold baking spices, cassis, and black plum. While this wine is enjoyable now, it's built to last into the next decade.

On a plateau atop La Grola hill lies a stunning white-soiled vineyard called LaPoja, planted exclusively with CorvinaVeronese. LaPoja wine was inspired by Giovanni Allegrini, embodying his passionate belief in the land where he lived. The meticulous attention to detail on the spectacular site yields grapes with great personality and maturity. After more than four years of bottle aging, the 2012 LaPoja shows extraordinarily vivacity with a full spectrum of fresh-picked fruit and baking spice characteristics with subtle herbal elements. Full bodied and luscious with a long, lingering finish, La Poja has obtained star status among Italian wine enthusiasts. Age for a decade or more.

Dark, rich, ruby red in color with aromas of juicy raspberry crème brûlée on the nose both rich and ripe yet bright and enticing. Exquisite notes of ripe juicy plum, toffee, mocha and vanilla. Sweet with fruit flavor yet vibrant and lively. Similar to a plum tart with coffee ice cream and notes of almond brittle and vanilla. Delicious. Where ports can often be cloying, this is decidedly not.

With a style that balances concentration and complexity with harmony and finesse, this masterfully crafted Bordeaux blend has quickly become a classic in Bolgheri. Grown in two estate vineyards, the region is known for its terroir-driven wines. Perfectly ripened grapes and painstaking work in the cellar gave us a 2017 Sondraia with intense ruby red color and an aromatic, perfumed nose. Elegant on the palate, nuances of cherry, plum and blackberry blend with notes of chocolate, anise and spice. Silky-smooth, well-structured and balanced, with fine-grained tannins resulting in a wine of great class. The spring brought regular rainfall, fostering uniform development of buds. The summer was dry and airy, and rains in early September enabled balanced ripening of the grapes.

In the famed book, The Count of Monte Cristo, protagonist Edmond Dantes arrives to Marseille on a ship named ‘Pharaon.’ The word’s etymological roots and context since inspired Dave Phinney’s philosophy and the reserve wine for Department 66. Aromas of sweet oak, dark chocolate liqueur and Tahitian vanilla are complemented by ripe plum and herbal sage notes. Savory red fruit flavors of boysenberry and rhubarb fill the palate and blend with a glimpse of schist and minerality. Firm tannins are primed for extended aging while lingering acidity extends the finish across the palate.

Aromas of ripe blue fruits and berry compote are complemented by herbal and floral aromas of garrigue and dried lavender. Concentrated plum and dark fruit flavors give way to mountain spices and dried herbs. A persistent backbone of tannin and acidity adds structure, balance and a lengthy finish on the palate.

The 2014 Cabernet Franc is an elegant wine with a basket of aromas and flavors, ranging from raspberry to blueberry to rose and brown spice. The wine peaks with dark chocolate, mineral and toast. The silky texture and luscious body create a long finish and potential to age at least a decade.

A reflection of the Allegrini family’s winemaking expertise, Amarone Classico embraces the traditions, territory and character of this spectacular region. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are carefully air dried on racks for 90–120 days and checked daily to ensure perfectly healthy skins. In this natural drying process, called appassimento, the grapes become more concentrated and lose 40% to 45% of their weight. This meticulous and lengthy aging results in an impressive red wine that is an icon of Italian winemaking. A wine with beautiful depth, complexity and length, this Amarone Classico has layered notes of ripe dark-skinned berries, roasted raspberry, dried fruit and spice, lifted on the long, persistent finish by bright acidity and supple tannins.

Tornatore Etna Rosso is ruby red with faint purple color, a typical trait of the Nerello Mascalese variety, which is not known for rich color. The wine has notes of macerated strawberries and raspberries, morello cherries and black plum, which blend with subtle hints of herbs and earth. Surprisingly full in structure, fine tannins and bright acidity give the wine richness, complexity and persistence.

Allegrini's Valpolicella DOC shows the typicity of Valpolicella's native varietals in a a fresh and versatile wine. A wet spring enabled the region to build water reserves for what was a warm and dry summer, followed by a moderate late season with cool nights. The resulting grapes showed high sugar ripeness offset by vibrant acidity. Well-structured wine, with a soft, long and persistent finish. Brilliant ruby red in color, with a pleasant scent of wild berries. Dry and velvety on the palate, it is characterized by a bitter almond finish.
