Our 2023 Chardonnay is a bright white wine with hints of tropical fruit a whisper of toasted oak and toffee. Aromas of banana and lemongrass meet layers of crisp apple and pear. The finish is clean with a touch of Meyer lemon zest. <br><br>The grapes for this wine were harvested at optimum ripeness. To create vibrant flavor characteristics, we conducted fermentation at low- to moderate temperatures from 55°-62°F with carefully selected aromatic yeast. Post fermentation, the wine was stored in stainless steel tanks to preserve brightness and balance.

The palate is full-bodied and rich with flavors of ripe berries and dark fruit, supported by silky tannins and notes of vanilla marshmallow and layers of spice on a complex, long finish. <br><br> While below average winter rainfall led to some light early spring irrigation, the 2021 growing season continued with favorable warm spring weather that aided vines to reach max canopy height. Summer temperatures heated up and slowed down vine growth as vines transitioned into fruit development. Weather leading into harvest was relatively cool and uneventful. Moderate day temperatures and cool nights ensured extended hang times, which resulted in wines with great structure, round mouthfeel, and balanced flavors

Our 2021 Jayson Chardonnay offers a captivating interplay of richness and finesse, with a soulful complexity revealing itself with each sip. The nose is greeted with aromas of orange blossom and honeysuckle, lemon oil, and crushed Marcona almond. Our rich, full bodied 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a savory and darkly fruited expression of our William Hill Estate vineyard. The wine opens with bold notes of wild blackberry bush, plum, mission fig and black cherry reduction, mingling with earthy hints of leather, aniseed, cracked pepper, cinnamon, and clove. La Rocca is marked by its depth and complexity The wine opens with aromas of chamomile, white peach and mango. Rich, creamy and round, the wine seamlessly integrates generous fruit notes of white peach, Meyer lemon, yellow apple and Asian pear with hints of ginger, marzipan and vanilla, while La Rocca’s crisp acidity and signature minerality add depth and complexity to the palate The finish is long and persistent, framed by hints of toasted almonds and spice.

It's rare to find a wine from the Napa Valley composed of all five Bordeaux-style varietals, but for many years, that has been Papillon's focus. The raw strength and prestige of Cabernet Sauvignon buttressed by the opulence of Merlot, the spiciness of Cabernet Franc, the depth of Malbec and the sheer unctuousness of Petit Verdot come together seamlessly. The 2021 Papillon is sourced from Napa Valley growers we've worked with for decades-Stagecoach Vineyard, Indian Joe, Morisoli Vineyard and even a touch from the Monte Rosso Vineyard over on Moon Mountain, just to name a few. <br><br><i>Our good friend and fellow winemaker, Greg Gorman, photographed the label.</i><br><br> The 2021 Papillon fills the glass with an unmistakable dark crimson, a flash of neon purple and a ruby rim. Tears move glacially and the wine opens with aromatics of boysenberry jam, violets, chocolate covered blueberry and hints of Cara Cara rind, graphite and brioche. The entry and mid-palate are bright throughout with considerable weight-tones of cassis, blackberry and baking spices flourish. Enveloping texture, chalky, drying tannins and an enduring finish bows out the wine.

Our Sentinel Cabernet Sauvignon is named for the shield-shaped block that casts a watchful eye over the entrance to Monte Rosso Vineyard. Sentinel opens with aromas strawberry compote, raspberry leaf and dried roses. Sentinel is rich and full-bodied, offering hints of cherry tart, forest floor, black tea leaves and star anise. The wine's acidity and dusty tannins are in perfect balance adding texture and depth on the layered palate.

Mountain and benchland vineyards deliver a layered wine with structure, fruit intensity and finesse. Layers of vanilla and cassis are complemented by hints of cedar and a dusty finish on the palate. <br><br> The 2021 growing season marked a much-welcome return to ideal. Winter rains quenched the soil, setting the stage for dry weather the rest of the season. Over the summer, conditions stayed uneventful and mild, giving the grapes the luxury of hanging on the vine. Harvest began early, producing low yields of small berries with intense flavor concentration and optimal ripeness. <br><br> After early morning harvesting, the grapes were gently destemmed and put into upright tanks to cold soak for up to three days. To further extract flavor and varietal character, the wine was given pump-overs three times a day and kept on skins for 15 to 20 days of maceration time. The wine was then transferred to French (25% new) oak barrels for a period of 18 months.

Our liveliest and most youthful style from Soave Classico, the Pieropan family has been producing this wine since the early 1900’s. Generous, pleasingly fresh and versatile, it is made from the traditional varieties of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grown in family-owned vineyards situated in the Soave Classico region. <br><br> The 2022 vintage was characterized by a winter without significant rainfall, both snowy and rainy, and mild temperatures that led to an early but always dry spring. The temperatures of the first spring months were above average and this situation of scarcity, almost no rainfall and high temperatures lasted until the month of August. <br><br> In the summer months we then witnessed prolonged waves of extreme heat which exacerbated the evo-transpiration rates of the plant. This has led to a situation of water stress, mainly in hilly areas, where both the scarcity of substrate and the drainage capacity of the soil have made irrigation vital. The budding was slow due to the shortage of water in the spring, partial in some cases. The setting was poor, with sparse bunches, which accentuates a lack of product and weight. <br><br> This is more marked in early varieties such as Trebbiano, which was affected by the vintage. The Garganega, thanks to the rains of August and September, only partially recovered as the rains were not such as to make up for the water deficit. The plants finish the final stages of grape ripening in water suffering In our Valpolicella, on the other hand, the situation is a bit different, undoubtedly due to a more favorable climatic condition. The grapes are ripe, with low yields but in any case the position of the vineyard and its altitude have meant that the product is optimal from the point of view of the ripening parameters. <br><br> We report an optimal state from a phytosanitary point of view of the grapes. As far as the finished product is concerned, it is still premature to say anything, it will certainly be slightly scarcer in terms of quantity.

This wine opens with Pinot Noir’s distinguishing bright plum and cherry notes, but then it takes a turn. The flavors are bold and more intense than the average Pinot Noir, with characteristics of summer blackberry, pomegranate and dried rose petals. Oak aging imparts hints of vanilla, baking spice and freshly roasted coffee beans. A hint of cocoa, plush tannins and a round mouthfeel lead to a satisfying finish.

The Tornatore Etna Bianco is born from the skillful vinification of the white grape vines Carricante, cultivated in volcanic soils with a high vocation and arranged in terraces at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level, in the northern slope of the volcano. Pale straw yellow with intense reflections greenish to the eye; pleasant hints of green apple, grapefruit, white peach and herb aromatic, mark the nose of this wine the which shows its true identity on the palate with a very pleasant sapidity and freshness completed by an extraordinary minerality; exclusive notes that invite you to a second glass.

Weather leading into harvest was relatively cool and uneventful, which allowed for gradual ripening of the fruit. It was another remarkable growing season in the Santa Lucia Highlands, resulting in wines with beautiful color, concentrated flavors, great structure and naturally balanced acidity. <br><br> The 2021 vintage was crafted using small-lot winemaking techniques to capture a true expression of each vineyard block. Only estate vineyard lots with consistent superior characteristics were selected to ensure exceptional quality of this blend. The grapes were harvested during cool mornings, brought to the winery, destemmed into open-top stainless-steel tanks, cold-soaked and fermented on the skins for 10 days. The wine was then pressed off, settled and racked into a selection of small 60-gallon French oak barrels where it was aged for 14 months. When the wine was ready to be blended, our winemaker selected only the finest barrels that exemplify the aromas and flavors of the Santa Lucia Highlands.

The Gravity Red Blend is named for a remote, hard-to-reach Petite Sirah block on a lower slope at the edge of a canyon of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. Alluring notes of blueberry pie, wild blackberry and juicy plum are balanced with hints of anise, fresh cracked pepper and perfumed honeysuckle. The palate is packed with round tannins that lead to a long, impressive finish.

Our 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold expression from Paso Robles, where ideal growing conditions produce intense flavor characteristics in wine. A bouquet of black plum, dark cherry and rich cassis meet notes of roasted fig and shaved chocolate. The mouthfeel is decadent with a creamy texture and touches of plum leading to a lasting finish.

To craft our Clos du Bois Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay, we looked to the premiere, cool climate vineyards of the Russian River Valley, known for elegant Chardonnay of exceptional character. This wine is bright and juicy with refreshing notes of ripe pear and citrus, leading to a luscious and creamy finish with hints of oak and spice.

Rattlesnake Zinfandel is a tribute to the crest called Rattlesnake Hill, the highest point of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It’s famous for the rattlesnakes living among the vines, seeking sunshine by day and coiling around the vines at night. This Zinfandel is bold and boisterous, with intense layers black cherry, raspberry, licorice and Sichuan pepper. Vanilla and graham cracker undertones linger on the long finish this wine lives up to its name in every way, possessing a power that strikes with intense force.
