Our Edna Valley Vineyard Central Coast Pinot Noir is a fruit-forward, silky wine that shows light in the glass and plays rich on the palate. Our Pinot Noir brims with layers of blackberry and cherry with a touch of hibiscus. Warm hints of pie crust and vanilla support the fruit notes, pulling the underlying richness through the finish.

The 2019 growing season was steady and began with average rainfall and warm spring temperatures. Conditions stayed mild throughout the season with budbreak occurring as expected in the middle of March, leading to a consistent bloom and set. Warmer temperatures in early fall allowed for even ripening right through the end of harvest.

We harvested during the coolest hours of the morning, then destemmed the grapes and cold soaked for five days at 45°F. Following fermentation, the wine was drained and the cap was pressed lightly to extract the most flavorful juice from just beneath the skin’s surface. Some lots underwent extended maceration to intensify the color and flavor. All lots completed malolactic fermentation and were aged on 100% French oak for an average of six to eight months.
