Our 2021 Hahn Appellation Series Arroyo Seco Pinot Noir is ruby red in color, with aromas of black cherry, ripe red berry and subtle hints of vanilla and warm spice. On the palate, soft and delicate flavors of cherry and raspberry are followed by creamy nuances and spicy minerality, culminating in a pleasantly long finish. <br><br> <b>VINEYARDS</b><br> Grapes for this wine are sourced from Ste. Philippe Vineyard – our certified sustainable estate vineyard in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County. Located south of the Santa Lucia Highlands, Ste. Philippe sits in an ancient, dry riverbed with well-drained, sandy loam soils. Coastal influence and cool winds from Monterey Bay contribute to an extended growing season which ensures complexity and intensity of the fruit. <br><br> <b>WINEMAKING</b><br> Picked in early morning, the Pinot Noir grapes were destemmed into stainless steel tanks and fermented for about two weeks. During that time, the wine was pumped over several times daily to maximize color, aromatics and flavor extraction. After the juice was pressed on the skins, it was settled and racked into French oak barrels to age for 11 months.

Opens with aromatic notes of tobacco, cigar box, and ripe plum, and leads to an opulent palate of dark berries, earth, hints of spice, and sweet tobacco with a lengthy, luscious finish.

Deep ruby, it releases aromas of white pepper, crushed mint and dried violet. Spice and dried sage drive the full body with undertones of cherry and plum. Our disciplined oak regime results in notes of toasted vanilla and cocoa. Bold tannins lead to a lengthy, broad finish.

The 2021 Apothic Red is a rich Zinfandel-led Red blend with red silky, smooth layers of black cherry, boysenberry and black pepper. Syrah and Merlot add intriguing notes of ripe blueberry and boysenberry, while a mix of other red varieties add dimension and depth with hints of spice. Soft and plush on the palate, the long finish brings vanilla and mocha characteristics, a reflection of the selective oak aging used to enhance and support the wine’s elegant appeal. <br><br> <b>Viticulture Notes</b><br> We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Red from the Lodi and Central Valley areas in California. We sourced the Zinfandel from Lodi, a premium producer of intensely concentrated, silky textured fruit. California’s 2021 growing season was cool and mild, excellent conditions for developing mature, layered fruit. A heat spell in August resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines from this vintage showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors. <br><br> <b>Winemaking Notes</b><br> Red was our first Apothic release: a daringly bold and original blend of California-grown red grapes that created a phenomenon. Grapes for 2021 Apothic Red were de-stemmed, with a portion selected for whole-cluster fermentation. We fermented the wine for five to seven days in a combination of cone-sweep and upright tanks at a temperature averaging 85-88°F. Across all lots, we exercised meticulous temperature control to maximize the extraction of color and dark fruit notes.

Our 2019 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a luxurious expression of the small, but powerful, Red Mountain AVA. Dark and elegant, our Cabernet offers dusty aromas of dried fruit and lavender with hints of pepper. The mouthfeel brims with layers of blackberry liqueur and dark cherry with undercurrents of black tea and leather. Pronounced tannins lead to a full, lingering finish for a wine elegant enough to wow your wine enthusiast friends at a dinner party.

Our 2022 Grenache Rosé is a crisp wine with a refreshing, light style. In the glass, this wine shows the color of pink tulle. Aromas of cherry and sugared cranberry greet the nose while juicy notes of strawberry and watermelon meet the palate. A touch of effervescence gives the wine a buoyant, vibrant quality. Hints of raspberry pull through the long finish.

Mountain and benchland vineyards deliver a layered wine with structure, fruit intensity and finesse. Layers of vanilla and cassis are complemented by hints of cedar and a dusty finish on the palate. <br><br> The 2021 growing season marked a much-welcome return to ideal. Winter rains quenched the soil, setting the stage for dry weather the rest of the season. Over the summer, conditions stayed uneventful and mild, giving the grapes the luxury of hanging on the vine. Harvest began early, producing low yields of small berries with intense flavor concentration and optimal ripeness. <br><br> After early morning harvesting, the grapes were gently destemmed and put into upright tanks to cold soak for up to three days. To further extract flavor and varietal character, the wine was given pump-overs three times a day and kept on skins for 15 to 20 days of maceration time. The wine was then transferred to French (25% new) oak barrels for a period of 18 months.

It's the perfect clash and complement of old and new to make something fresh. Sweet at the core with a rebellious streak. Lolli Sweet Red Blend is elegant, sweet and juicy with ripe blackberry and blueberry with a smooth and fruity finish.

Our 2020 Weinbau Vineyard Merlot captures the complexity the Wahluke Slope is famous for producing. The nose is an intriguing mix of wild berry with Kalamata olive brine. This wine offers firm tannins that give the mouthfeel a big, round presence and oak aging that imparts a taut structure. Pronounced notes of blackberry, black plum and wild blueberry give our Merlot a big fruit presence. The finish is long and decadent with a layer of toasted oak and caramelized sugar. <br><br> <b>About Weinbau Vineyard</b><br> The grapes for our Merlot were harvested from wonderful old vines in blocks 54, 193 and 194 of Weinbau Vineyard, a legendary vineyard located on Washington’s Wahluke Slope. Known for its dry warm climate, Wahluke Slope allows winemaking nearly complete control of irrigation and ripening. Mineral-rich, volcanic silty loess soil provides excellent drainage and imparts complexity to the wine.

Our 2021 Lucienne Smith Pinot Noir displays fragrant aromas of black cherry, red plum, black tea and notes of mint and forest floor. On the palate, flavors of red cherry, black currant and a hint of clove are supported by intriguing layered round tannins, lush mouthfeel and balanced acidity.

Our Mirassou California Cabernet Sauvignon expresses characteristics of naturally jammy fruits—blackberry, black cherry and black currant — with layers of vanilla on the palate and soft tannins. This wine delivers a full, plush mouthfeel and a lingering finish.

Effusive aromas of blackberry pie, cassis, and leather greet the nose, foretelling the full, expressive palate. Prophecy Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium-bodied, fruit-forward red wine that captures the essence of one of California’s most famous noble varieties. Luscious notes of black currants, cassis and blackberry meld with hints of vanilla for a smooth palate. Underlying hints of cocoa and toasty oak add depth. The finish is refined and long with a touch of pepper at the end.

Characterized by expressive notes of dark fruit and fragrant baking spices, Storypoint Cabernet Sauvignon embodies the best aromatic, character and textural elements California wine regions have to offer. Our robust Cabernet Sauvignon reveals rich layers of blackberry, dark cherry, mint, sage and black tea and finishes with unique oak signatures of cocoa, molasses and gingerbread.

Poured as a dark garnet, the wine opens with primary aromas of ripe cassis and blackberry. Supporting hints of dark chocolate, toasted oak and cedar support the typical Orin Swift Cabernet Sauvignon nose. The entry is flooding with notes of dark fruits and a mid-palate bolstered with redcurrant, bay leaf and a reemergence of cassis. Estancia 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautifully balanced red wine from the coastal influenced vineyards of California. Aromas of dark cherry, plum and vanilla lift from the glass, revealing a sense of berry compote. Layers of dark berries create a velvety mouthfeel, underscored by threads of lightly toasted oak, caramel and a drop of raspberry on the finish. <br><br> <b>Winemaking Notes:</b><br> The grapes for our Cabernet Sauvignon enjoy longer time on the vine to develop complex flavor characteristics and ripe tannins. We harvested the grapes early in the morning, then destemmed and crushed them to tank where they were fermented on the skins. We then pressed the wine off of skins before aging on oak.

Our 2021 Merlot is a velvety, approachable red wine from California. Layers of black plum and boysenberry meet hints of mocha and toasted oak in this medium-bodied wine. Hints of cherry and vanilla give the wine depth on the palate before leading to a long finish. <br><br> <b>Viticulture Notes:</b><br> The fruit for our Merlot originated from sun-drenched vineyards in California’s Central Valley. The 2021 vintage experienced ongoing dry conditions in the state. A mild summer helped increase hangtime, resulting in optimal ripening and an excellent vintage overall. <br><br> <b>Winemaking Notes:</b><br> To preserve fruit characteristics and create a soft mouthfeel, we aged our Merlot on oak for 3-4 months.

Rattlesnake Zinfandel is a tribute to the crest called Rattlesnake Hill, the highest point of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It’s famous for the rattlesnakes living among the vines, seeking sunshine by day and coiling around the vines at night. This Zinfandel is bold and boisterous, with intense layers black cherry, raspberry, licorice and Sichuan pepper. Vanilla and graham cracker undertones linger on the long finish this wine lives up to its name in every way, possessing a power that strikes with intense force.

Our 2021 Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, full-bodied wine brimming with aromas of blackberry pie. The mouthfeel is round with layers of wild brambleberry accented with notes of toasted oak and caramel. Structured tannins deliver subtle hints of warm spice and dried herbs on the finish.

Our rich, full bodied 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a savory and darkly fruited expression of our William Hill Estate vineyard. The wine opens with bold notes of wild blackberry bush, plum, mission fig and black cherry reduction, mingling with earthy hints of leather, aniseed, cracked pepper, cinnamon, and clove. The texture of the wine is supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity that help frame the dense, velvety-smooth finish. Our William Hill Estate California Pinot Noir is well-balanced and opens with delightful aromas of fresh red fruit with hints of oak and baking spice. On the palate, supple layers of dark cherry and black currant play against bright acidity, a plush mouthfeel and a long, smooth finish.
