Our 2021 Kali Hart Pinot Noir is a fruit-forward expression of our coastal influenced vineyards in Santa Lucia Highlands, California. Aromas of ripe black cherry and plum greet the nose with inviting notes of toasted vanilla and warm clove. Soft, silky tannins reveal layers of crushed blackberry and strawberry with a hint of savory herbs. The finish is long and luscious with a touch of minerality.

The Athena Chardonnay is full, rich, and has distinctive notes of ripe tree stone and tropical fruit, which are complemented by toasted oak flavors.

Nearly bursting out of the glass, this wine has intense aromas of blackberry jam, and blackcurrant, complemented with sweet coconut and hints of dried herbs. The jammy character carries through to the mouth, with endless dark fruit, a big bodied, plush mouthfeel and notes of nutmeg.

Predominant aromas of sweet citrus fruit with hints of ginger, exotic flowers and spices are supported by a framework of cinchona bark and bitter root extracts. In the famed book, The Count of Monte Cristo, protagonist Edmond Dantes arrives to Marseille on a ship named ‘Pharaon.’ The word’s etymological roots and context since inspired Dave Phinney’s philosophy and the reserve wine for Department 66. Aromas of sweet oak, dark chocolate liqueur and Tahitian vanilla are complemented by ripe plum and herbal sage notes. Savory red fruit flavors of boysenberry and rhubarb fill the palate and blend with a glimpse of schist and minerality. Firm tannins are primed for extended aging while lingering acidity extends the finish across the palate.

The wine opens with aromatic notes of black cherry and dark plum with appealing undertones of clove and vanilla. Our 2020 Malbec is a full-body, well-rounded red wine from Don Miguel Gascón, the longest continually operation winery in Argentina. In the glass, our Malbec shows an inky black color and reveals aromas of crushed violet and dark berries. Bold notes of dark plum, black cherries and blueberry integrate with oak-influenced hints of pepper and cocoa. Plush tannins create a soft supple mouthfeel and long, velvety finish.

Our 2022 Jayson Sauvignon Blanc has fresh flavors and lively acidity counterpoised with a deep, textural richness. Vibrant aromas of orange blossom, Kefir lime leaf, and ripe guava leap from the glass. The palate opens with a focused surge of Key lime, guava, and a hint of river rock minerality. Bright, concentrated citrus and tropical fruit flavors glide through the supple, layered mid-palate, continuing laser sharp through the crisp finish, an echo of citrus meringue ringing on. <br><br> My intention with Jayson Sauvignon Blanc is to make a wine that is incredibly bright and energetic with a beautiful purity of fruit bolstered by a broad, textural midpalate. In the vineyard, I manage the canopy to encourage early ripening with acidity retention. I’m blending acid-driven valley floor fruit with intense, ripe fruit from our mountain vineyards that’s given longer hang time to fully evolve, a range of ripeness bringing nuance and detail. Lees are stirred just enough to impart a balancing richness while retaining freshness. The finished wine is a complete package of energy and crispness, complexity and depth.

Our Frei Brothers Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a medium-bodied, fruit-forward expression of the Russian River Valley. Aromas of orange peel, spiced fig and bergamot rise from the glass. Layers of dark cherry, black plum and pomegranate notes are underscored by tones of mocha and toasted oak. Mild tannins balance hints of crushed lavender and dried dark cherry that persist through the long finish.

Our 2022 Sonoma Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is a distinctive expression of the Russian River Valley’s cool climate. Inviting aromas of lemon zest, orange blossom and ruby grapefruit rise from the glass. Brilliant notes of Meyer lemon, green apple and honeydew melon layer with a weightless floral quality and a refreshing acidity that cleanses the palate. This wine is easy to enjoy on its own, but also works well with many dishes such as chicken piccata, freshly shucked oysters or an order of well-salted pommes frites.

Our Mirassou California Pinot Grigio is a refreshing, medium-bodied white wine. Aromas of apricot and lemon leaf greet the nose while layers of orchard fruit impart crisp layers of green apple and Bartlett pear to the palate. On the finish, a delicious touch of fruit lingers.

Our Ecco Domani delle Venezie DOC Pinot Grigio is made primarily from hand-harvested grapes grown in the high-altitude region of delle Venezie area. This signature wine has a straw yellow color with light green and gold flecks. On the palate, it is a complex wine that offers delicate floral and tropical fruit notes of pineapple, passion fruit and mango. On the finish, an intense aroma of Williams pear complements the bright acidity. With its food-friendly and approachable style, our Pinot Grigio pairs beautifully with light pastas, poultry and fish and can also be enjoyed as a refreshing “after-work” aperitif

Our 2019 Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon offers another dimension on the big, bold varietal. Full-bodied and intensely concentrated with layers of black cherry, blackberries and cassis, our Cabernet is well-defined with a big presence. Underscores of toasted vanilla, subtle maple and cocoa notes weave through the palate to a luscious finish.

The Gravity Red Blend is named for a remote, hard-to-reach block on a lower slope of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. Its location on the edge of a canyon yields grapes with exceptional intensity. Decadent dark fruit notes of plum and black raspberry are balanced with a plethora of supporting players – hints of cinnamon, cedar, graphite and pepper add dimension and complexity to this strikingly rich red blend.

Our Mirassou Pinot Noir is crafted in honor of our heritage of producing elegant wine. Approachable and fruit-driven, our Pinot Noir opens with essences of black cherry and raspberry with subtle hints of oak and vanilla. A rich, round palate leads to a silky finish.

Our 2020 Da Vinci Chianti is a deep crimson color, and boasts aromas and notes of ripe plum, strawberry and cherry dotted by savory notes of black pepper. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is well‐balanced with soft tannins and a bright acidity that lingers through a luscious, mineral finish. This wine pairs beautifully with a variety of pastas and meat dishes.

Rattlesnake Zinfandel is a tribute to the crest called Rattlesnake Hill, the highest point of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It’s famous for the rattlesnakes living among the vines, seeking sunshine by day and coiling around the vines at night. Our deep, complex 2019 vintage opens with ripe notes of wild blackberry, black cherry, dark plum and crushed raspberry, layered with hints of baked fig, cinnamon toast, vanilla and dark chocolate spice cake. This full-bodied Zinfandel offers incredible depth, texture and structure, lifting the fruit notes through to the long, lingering finish. <br><br> <b>VITICULTURE NOTES</b><br> This wine is crafted entirely from the historic Monte Rosso Vineyard, offering exceptional fruit with incredible concentration. The 2019 growing season was warm and evenly paced, offering ideal growing conditions. Winter rain led to a cool spring, which delayed budbreak. Late May delivered more rain but by June, warm, steady temperatures delivered consistent warmth that encouraged canopy growth and allowed the fruit to ripen gradually. Harvest 2019 produced low yields of small berries packed with rich, complex flavor characteristics. <br><br> <b>WINEMAKING NOTES</b><br> We gave the grapes a two- to three-day cold soak to extract the desired foundation for color, flavor and structure. Fermentation took place in open-top tanks with up to 14 days of maceration time. All lots were aged separately until the blend was assembled and returned to barrel for flavors to integrate. Total barrel aging was 16 months in 100% French (30% new) oak, with the balance aging in neutral barrels. 

Our 2020 Edna Valley Vineyard Central Coast Pinot Grigio is like sunshine in a glass. Bright notes of lemon, lime and green apple are elevated by delicate floral notes. Our crisp Pinot Grigio refreshes and cleanses the palate straight through the finish.

Our Edna Valley Vineyard 2020 Central Coast Chardonnay is a graceful, beautifully complex reflection of California’s rugged coast. Aromas and layers of green apples and white peach mingle with notes of toast and lemon zest. A vibrant mouthfeel and long, luxurious finish complete the palate.

The 2021 Kali Hart Chardonnay is our most fruit-forward expression of cool-climate white wine from our legendary Sleepy Hollow Vineyard and Olson Ranch Vineyard. Layers of ripe stone fruits and toasted vanilla bean rise from the glass, while notes of Honeycrisp apple and melon greet the palate. A full, luscious mouthfeel carries through to a bright, creamy finish underscored by a hint of warming spices and fresh baked brioche.

Our Edna Valley Vineyard 2021 Sauvignon Blanc is a well-balanced wine with a distinct minerality and refreshing palate. Lively aromas of ripe grapefruit, lemon zest, lime blossom with a touch of jalapeño. Bright notes of orange marmalade, lychee and a touch of freshly cut grass brighten the palate and pull through to a crisp, cleansing finish. <br><br> <b>Pairings</b><br> Enjoy with green goddess hummus and fresh farmer's market vegetables or cold fresh-cracked crab legs. <br><br> <b>Harvest Notes</b><br> The 2021 harvest will be remembered for reduced crop size, small berries and intense flavor profiles across the board. Ongoing dry conditions affected both crop and berry size, while idyllic weather patterns allowed the fruit to ripen slowly and evenly. Edna Valley is renowned its rich oceanic and volcanic soils, cool Pacific breezes, and warm sunny days. Overall quality in 2021 was outstanding. <br><br> <b>Winemaking Notes</b><br> We harvested our Sauvignon Blanc grapes when they had developed optimal balance and desirable citrus and tropical fruit notes. A variety of specialty yeasts were used to showcase the varietal characteristics and bring them to the wine’s forefront. We fermented in stainless steel tanks at cooler temperatures around 55°F to retain delicate aromas and signature compounds. To increase viscosity and complexity, the wine was aged on its lees for two months before blending.

In 1964, Louis P. Martini, son of Napa pioneer Louis M. Martini, purchased 178 acres of land which the Martini family developed into a vineyard they named Ghost Pines as a tribute to the native grey pines which at dusk, appear to hover, solitary and ghostlike throughout the coastal valleys. <br><br> Ghost Pines Merlot draws from multiple winegrowing counties to create a wine as unique as the Ghost Pine itself. Hints of black cherry and ripe berries complement mocha and brown spice notes finishing with a generous, supple texture.
