Here is South Africa’s version of a great New World Chardonnay: fruit-driven, layers of citrus, apple and peach flavors. A hint of vanilla and a creamy texture. Winemaker Andries Blake set aside a third of the wine for malolactic fermentation, giving it a subtle richness. He also blended in a little Viognier, Semillon and Steen (South Africa’s Chenin Blanc) for complexity.
This Chardonnay loves food. We love it with fish. Give the seafood a touch of Cajun spice to balance the creaminess in the wine.
