Wines from Germany’s southern Pfalz region, bordering France, are more “zingy” than those from the better known regions of Mosel and Rheingau. Zingy, and delicious, as befits wines from a place that has 200 festivals a year.

The bouquet is a symphony of citrus, very inviting. Clear fruit flavors rise easily: green apple, lime, citrus, some minerality as you would expect in a good Riesling. Interesting finish – long and clean. Pair this drier style Riesling with meat or seafood.

The Pfaltz winegrowing region is home to Germany’s oldest wine road, where a progressive group of younger winemakers is re-interpreting traditional German wines. Medium Sweet Riesling is a classic, and this one is very contemporary.
