Roman Bratasiuk’s quintessential wine is nothing short of stunning. Cassis and countless sweet red and black fruits on the nose. Intense flavors of blueberries, plum, roasted meat, truffles, violet and vanilla. Notice the subtle tones of pepper and cedary oak. Finishes with plenty of flavor and rousing intensity.

Relatively young vines (1995) and a dry season add up to a massive Syrah. Harvested by hand as each row ripened. High skin to pulp ratios gave incredible concentration to the flavors.

This ruby colored wine has classic aromas of black berries, smokey bacon and leather. A supple and generous offering, well textured on the palate. Brings flavors of black plums and currants. Smoky with a spicy finish.

This Cab comes from one section of the Brookman Vineyard planted in 1940 in rugged ironstone gravel. Great heat retention to drive maturation of flavor components. Whole berry fermentation got every nuance of flavor and helped frame a coherent tannin profile.

An inky wine, crimson in color. A classy, perfumed, aristocratic nose of pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Extraordinary aromas of black currants and high quality French oak scented bouquet. Elegant flavors of black fruits, smoky herbs, eucalyptus and vanilla.

The hard clay soils of the Brookman Vineyard come up through this Merlot in both flavor and structure. Winemaker Roman Bratasiuk calls this wine “persistent” in flavor and opulent in character.

This intense Merlot offering is dark ruby in color. Aromas of herbs, rich blueberries, blackberries and hints of coffee bean. On the palate, the wine reveals intense flavors of dark chocolate, plums, mocha and earth spices. A Merlot with wonderful layered precision and elegance.

Clarendon Hills Winemaker/Owner Roman Bratasiuk is approaching 20 years of “take no prisoners” winemaking: old vines, dry farmed, hand picked, wild yeast, French oak. Grenache is among his masterpieces.

A brightly colored wine with hints of red cherries and black berries. Soft aromas of kirsch, spices, white pepper. A touch of lavender and basil. Full-bodied on the middle palate, filled with flavors of cherries and spices. A lengthy wine with an aromatic finish.

These vines were planted in 1920 and are dry-farmed and “bush headed.” Winemaker Roman Bratasiuk says wines from this patch evolve slowly, in the cellar and in the glass.

This dense, ruby colored Grenache offers aromas of superb black cherry and red plums. A full-bodied wine with fine acidity, ripe tannins and a savory mouthfeel. Displays a balanced mix of chewy blackberries and red raspberry textures. A layered wine that is bold and structured.

Some of winemaker Roman Bratusiak’s most distinctive wines come from this vineyard. Fermented with wild yeast that comes in with the hand-picked grapes, this wine truly speaks of the place where it was born.

The crimson and purple color hints at an incredible bouquet of crème de cassis, smoke, licorice and espresso. On the palate, the wine has fabulous flavors of licorice, red raspberries, cherries, currant and espresso.

Grenache in the flat, sandy soil of the Kangarilla Vineyard usually ripens early, with low yields due to the age of the vines, planted in 1920. A dry season extended the process and added a dramatic component to this vintage.

It is a concentrated wine that offers aromas of cassis, violets and blackberries. A well balanced offering with sweet fruit on the palate and ripe tannins intermixed with hints of licorice, Provencal herbs, spice box and exotic fruit. A truly gratifying wine.
