Frei Brothers Reserve®: Terroir Matters
As featured in the Wine Spectator
Frei Brothers Reserve wines are “place-based”, made from grapes that bring out the best of Sonoma County’s most prestigious and distinctive growing regions: Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, and Dry Creek Valley. Each wine represents the perfect marriage of soil, climate and vine, because terroir matters.

Russian River Valley Chardonnay
This wine brings a classic cool-climate palate, lush and round, with flavors of orange zest, green apple, and white currant. A hint of roasted hazelnut rounds out the finish.
Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Intense aromas of cassis, dark berries and toasty oak are on the nose. Velvet tannins are complemented by flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cedar, and tobacco.
Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Fragrant grass, citrus peel and mineral notes with pleasant bursts of passion fruit are very appealing in this wine. The finish is crisp and light, and its vibrancy lingers on the palate.
Dry Creek Valley Merlot
Here is a modern Merlot, crafted in a medium-bodied style that exhibits flavors of blackberry and cherry with hints of vanilla and spices from oak barrel aging.
Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bright red cherry flavors are the highlight here, in an elegant, unmistakably Russian River Valley style. Vanilla notes complete the finish.
Russian River Valley Syrah
Here is a big and rich Syrah, with earthy aromas and flavors of dark blue and black berries. A hint of black pepper spice rides on the soft tannins that round out a long, concentrated finish.
