    Bear Flag Wine draws its name from the iconic state flag of California and one of the earlier nicknames of the territory—The Bear Flag Bear Flag winesRepublic. This symbol of early California, and the spirit of re-invention and independence that modern California still evokes today, inspired the brand. Conceived by a young winemaker, Beth Cutler, Bear Flag was created with a distinctive twist in mind. Beth exercised her freedom of expression and openly flouted the rules set down by tradition to create a series of wine blends that defy convention.
