Wine Fact: The juice from a wine grape is a deceiving indicator of a wine’s color. Grape juice is neither red nor white; in fact, it is colorless. The color of a wine is derived from its contact with the skins of the grape. During maceration, the grape skins remain in contact with the juice, infusing it with pigment and creating the range of hues found in red wine.
