Malbec
The Grape. The Region.Since its arrival in
Argentina from
France in 1852, the Malbec grape has thrived in the high-altitude, sun-drenched climate of Argentina’s famed Mendoza region. Today, Malbec largely remains a
blending grape in France. In the Southern Hemisphere, however, it is Argentina’s signature
grape variety and the catalyst behind the country’s success on the world wine map.
Wine Style. Wine Flavor.A quintessential expression of the Argentine vineyard, Malbec exhibits
colors of intense violet and purple. It is typically a medium- to full-bodied wine, with rich
aromas of dark fruits, cocoa and mocha. Soft, round
tannins and flavors of plum and blackberry are evident on the palate.
Sip. Eat.Pair Malbec wine with red meat dishes and tomato-based cuisine.
