Forget what you think you know about Italian Pinot Grigio. This is something special—bright, lively, luxurious. Winemaker Fabrizio Gatto used premium Pinot Grigio grapes from the Canali Family’s 500-year-old estate in Trentino, where the high elevation vineyards produce wines of exquisite character.
Fabrizio employed the time-intensive “passito” method for this wine, letting a small batch of the late-harvest Pinot Grigio grapes dry on racks, then vinifying them separately and folding them into the final blend. The result is an amazing intensity of tropical flavors and a big, full body. No secondary fermentation was allowed, giving the wine its crisp finish.
Ripe flavors of apricot, lemon, apple and pineapple, with ethereal floral notes woven throughout.
