Proximity to the Pacific Ocean gives Monterey County the cool, foggy climate that is ideal for growing Chardonnay grapes. Typically, bud break begins several weeks earlier and harvest ends several weeks later in Monterey County than in other Central Coast growing regions. This extra month of time on the vine allows the grapes to develop a crisp, bright acidity and lush tropical flavors. Monterey County houses the significant Monterey AVA, which includes nine sub-regions, united by the cooling influence of Monterey Bay.

Juicy tropical flavors mixed with hints of vanilla and spice. Flavors of lush pineapple, mango and tart pippin apple give way to clover honey and toasted sugar notes.

Russian River means cool climate, right? Syrah means warm climate, right? Yes…and no. Cool climate Syrah has really caught on because you get all that Syrah fruit flavor and texture, with a touch of elegance in the structure. Winemakers used two different designer yeasts to draw out structure, flavor and aromas.

Earthy smoke and toast, dark blue and black berries, black pepper spice.Tannins that caress the palate on the finish.

Grace and substance characterize this wine. It was fermented in steel, which gives it all that bright fruit pizzazz. Part of the lot was left on its lees for a few months in mellowed French oak barrels, and that’s where the nice round body and mouth-filling viscosity come from. Reminiscent of a classic Alsatian Pinot Gris.

A beautiful golden straw color invites you in. Good expression of white peach, fig and citrus flavors. Hints of honeydew melon add a little weight on the palate.
