Gallo Family Vineyards Sonoma Pinot Noir 2008 California - Sonoma County
Gallo Family Vineyards Sonoma Pinot Noir 2008
We can’t figure out if this wine is satin or silk. Round, full, rich – the whole Merlot vocabulary in a bottle. Soft comes to mind, but not flabby. Blending batches from different Sonoma County vineyards puts some backbone in it. Early aromas of blueberry pie urge you into the glass.
Wild berries run onto the palate, jammy and delicious. A little creamy vanilla, almost spicy.
"The inexpensive 2007 Pinot Noir Sonoma reveals ripe cherry, red currant, pomegranate, root beer, and roasted herb characteristics in a medium-bodied, spicy format." - 87 points, Robert Parker, Jr.; Issue #187, February 2010
